Today　is "Yoiyama"　on the Eve of Yamahoko grand parade in Gion festival .
Gion festival is one of the largest and most historical festival in Kyoto-City in Japan.
Children(4-5years class)of our kindergarten went to see floats of Gion festival called " Yama" or "Hoko" yesterday.
At first , children went to Niwatori-hoko float.
Children took turns getting on the float through a bridge between side building and the float .
Children　enjoyed the view from the float very much.
All　the floats are decorated with beautiful tapestries both from Nisijin　and imported from all over the world. So ， they are called “mobile art museum”.
Also , children were surprised at the size of the "Hoko".
The Kyoto-City municipal kindergarten regards that children get close to traditional culture of Kyoto .

今日は「宵山」，祇園祭の山鉾巡航の前日です。
祇園祭は，日本の京都の最も規模が大きくて，歴史のあるお祭のうちの一つです。
わたしたちの幼稚園の子どもたち（4−5歳児）は，昨日，祇園祭の「山」や「鉾」と呼ばれるお祭の山車を見に行きました。
まず，子どもたちは，「鶏鉾」に行きました。
子どもたちは，鉾と横のビルとの間の橋を通って，順に鉾に乗りました。
子どもたちは，鉾の上からの眺めをとても楽しました。
鉾はどれも，「西陣」や世界中から取り寄せられた美しいタペストリー（織物）で飾られています。なので，「動く美術館」と呼ばれています。
子どもたちは，鉾の大きさにも，驚いていました。
京都市立幼稚園は，子どもたちが京都の伝統的な文化に親しむことを大切にしています。
