On November 26th, the 10th Kris Cup Speech Contest was held at HELLO Village. Sixteen passionate students from the 1st and 2nd
grades gathered at the Communication Space after school.

Although they all seemed nervous, they came well prepared for the contest. Each student delivered thoughtful and engaging speeches, and the judges and audience were impressed by the high quality of their presentations.

Following the 16 contestants, three exchange students who are
currently studying at Hiyoshigaoka this year gave speeches in
Japanese. It was clear that their Japanese has improved a lot since they arrived in Japan just a couple of months ago, as the audience warmly applauded their efforts.

It was finally time for the most exciting moment of the event,
when Kris announced the four winners from each grade. The
judges noted that it had been an extremely close contest, as many speeches were strong and it was difficult to make their final
decisions. This year’s speeches demonstrated an impressive level
of effort and creativity, leaving a strong impression on everyone
who attended.

The eight students who won prizes will have the wonderful
opportunity to present their speeches in the Four Seasons Cup at
the Four Seasons Hotel on December 12th. We wish all of you
good luck and we are already looking forward to celebrating the
11th Kris Cup next year.

11月２６日、「第１０回　クリスカップ　スピーチコンテスト」が
HELLO Villageで開かれました。１６人の熱心な１年生、２年生が放課後、コミュニケーションスペースに集まりました。

皆、緊張していましたが、コンテストに臨むにあたって、しっかりと準備していました。各生徒の思慮深い、人を引き付けるスピーチにジャッジや聴衆は魅了され、質の高いプレゼンテーションに圧倒されました。

１６人のプレゼンターの後に現在、日吉ケ丘高校で学んでいる３人の留学生たちによる日本語のスピーチが披露されました。彼らの日本語は数か月前に日本へ来た時より明らかに上達したことは聴衆の温かい拍手が物語っていました。

そして、ついにこのイベントで最もワクワクする瞬間、クリス村長によって各学年から４人ずつ
勝者が発表されるときがやってきました。各ジャッジは今年のコンテストはそれぞれのスピーチが非常に強力で甲乙つけがたい接戦であったので最終決定を下すことが非常に難しかったとコメントがありました。スピーチはみな見事なレベルで完成されており、とてつもない努力とすばらしい創造性が見て取れ、このコンテストに参加した者全員に強い印象を与えたことは間違いありません。

このコンテストを勝ち抜いた８人の生徒たちは１２月１２日にフォーシーズンズホテルで開催されるフォーシーズンズカップに出場する素晴らしい機会に恵まれます。８人の生徒たちに心からエールを送りたいと思います。そして、私たちは既に来年度の第１１回クリスカップを執り行うことに大きな期待を寄せています。
