7月11日（土）、本校2年生を対象とした2026年度サマーデイキャンプを開催しました。約30名の生徒が参加し、クリス村長をはじめ、本校ALT4名と他校から参加した８名のALTとともに、一日を通してさまざまな英語アクティビティに挑戦しました。

まずは初めて出会うALTに自己紹介をした後、９つのチームに分かれ、各チームに1名ずつALTが加わりました。チームごとにオリジナルの旗やスローガンを作成し、いよいよチャレンジのスタートです。

最初のアクティビティは「Paper Tower Making」です。限られた材料だけを使って紙のタワーを作り、その高さを競いました。生徒たちはALTと相談しながら試行錯誤を重ね、個性あふれるさまざまな形や高さのタワーを完成させていました。

続いて行われた「Scavenger Hunt」では、制限時間内にチームで協力しながら次々とミッションに挑戦し、できるだけ多くのタスクの達成を目指しました。

お待ちかねのランチタイムには、ピザやALTがBBQで焼いたソーセージを使ったホットドッグ、チキン、サラダ、デザートなどが並ぶビュッフェを楽しみました。生徒たちはALTや留学生と会話を弾ませながら、笑顔あふれる昼食の時間を過ごしました。

午後は「Fashion Show」からスタートしました。各チームで2名のモデルを選び、布や色画用紙、ひも、テープ、クリップなどの材料を使って、1時間でオリジナル衣装を制作しました。完成した衣装を身にまとったモデルたちは、思い思いのポーズを披露しながらランウェイを歩きます。どのチームもストーリーやコンセプトを工夫した個性的な作品を発表し、会場を大いに盛り上げました。

最後のチャレンジは、おなじみの「Pub Quiz」です。優勝を目指して各チームが最後まで力を合わせ、白熱した戦いが繰り広げられました。優勝チームには景品も贈られ、一日を締めくくるにふさわしい盛り上がりとなりました。

一日を通して、生徒たちは英語で積極的にコミュニケーションを取りながら、ALTや仲間との交流を深めました。楽しみながら英語に触れ、多くの笑顔があふれる充実したサマーデイキャンプとなりました。

 On Saturday, July 11, our school held the 2026 Summer Day Camp for second-year students. About 30 students participated in a full day of exciting English activities with HELLO Village mayor Kris, 4 ALTs from Hiyoshigaoka High School, and 8 guest ALTs from other schools.

Students were divided into nine teams, each joined by 1~2 ALTs. After creating their own team flags and slogans, the day's challenges began.

The first activity was Paper Tower Making. Using only the materials provided, each team worked together to build the tallest paper tower possible. Students discussed ideas with their ALT teammates, experimented with different designs, and created towers of various shapes and heights.

Next came the Scavenger Hunt, where each team worked together to complete as many tasks as possible within the time limit. The students communicated in English while solving challenges and supporting one another throughout the activity.

Everyone then enjoyed a well-deserved buffet lunch featuring pizza, BBQ hot dogs made with sausages grilled by the ALTs, chicken, salad, desserts, and more. Students, ALTs, and international students shared a fun and relaxing lunchtime filled with lively conversations.

The afternoon session began with the Fashion Show. Each team selected two models and spent one hour designing and creating original costumes using fabric, colored paper, string, tape, clips, and other materials. The models confidently walked the runway, striking creative poses for the audience and judges. Every team presented unique costumes with imaginative themes and stories, making the fashion show one of the highlights of the day.

The final challenge was Pub Quiz. Each team gave its best effort to earn the highest score, and the competition became more exciting with every round. The winning team received prizes, bringing the event to an enthusiastic conclusion.

Throughout the day, students actively communicated in English while building friendships with the ALTs and their teammates. It was a memorable day filled with laughter, teamwork, and opportunities to develop their confidence in using English.
