HELLO Village Week I Day 1

This year’s HELLO Village Week started on June 12th Thursday.
This is the 10th Anniversary of HELLO Village, and we celebrated
our past 10 years throughout all events. The first half featured
students from our sister school in Romania, George Cosbuc High
School and the second half we welcomed CIEE students from
America. So our students had the chance to meet people from
foreign countries every day during the week.

At lunch time of the Day 1, “Opening Ceremony” was conducted by Mayor Kris counting down 30 seconds together with all the
students who gathered at HELLO Village to share this exciting
moment. With the end of the count down, each students all pulled a cracker and cheered. After the Opening Ceremony, “One Minute Chat with Romanian students” began. But apparently 1 minute was not enough for all of them.

After school, “Open ESS” was held and a lot of students assembled at the Communication Space. They enjoyed a special version of
ESS with George Cosbuc students.

今年のHELLO Village Week I は6月12日（木）に始まりました。今回は英語村10周年での開催ということで、すべてのイベントはこの10年間を振り返り称賛する気持ちが込められています。そして、このHELLO
Village Week I の一週間、日吉ケ丘生は毎日、他国の生徒達と交流する機会を得ました。前半は姉妹校のルーマニアのジョージ・コシュブック校の生徒達を迎え共に活動し、後半はアメリカのCIEE留学生を交えての開催となりました。

初日の昼休みに行われた「Opening Ceremony」では、この瞬間を味わうためにHello Villageへ集まった全員はクリス村長による30秒のカウントダウン後、皆手渡されていたクラッカーを一斉に鳴らし、喜びの声をあげました。その後「One Minute Chat with Romanian Students」がスタートし日吉ケ丘生は次々1分ずつ14人のジョージ・コシュブック生との会話を楽しみましたが、明らかに1分は短かすぎたようです。

第一日目の放課後は「Open ESS」が催され、多くの生徒達がブックレット片手にコミュニケーション・スペースに集まり、普段のESS部の活動の特別バージョンにルーマニアの生徒達とともに挑みました。
