話題は、京都大学の研究チームが野生のチンパンジーが障がいのある赤ちゃんを２年間にわたり家族ぐるみで育てるのを観察した、というものです。

Japanese researchers found that a chimpanzee mother in Tanzania cared for her disabled baby for almost two years. This disabled baby had a bump on her stomach. So she couldn’t sit down and cling to her mother. It is the first time in the world that a chimpanzee was seen looking after a disabled infant, they said.
