　生き物を飼育している教室の前を通るのは，とっても楽しいです！
　とってもたくさんの学びがあります！

★あれ？　いつの間に！
★これって，いつからあった？？？
◇ん〜と・・・忘れた！
★これ，何か知ってる？
◇これは，メダカのエサにするもの！
★うんうん！　シーモンキーだな！
◇シーモンキー？　何それ？？？

私がこの生物と初めて出会ったのは，1971年，今から４８年前！
　いまアメリカでスゴ〜イ人気！
　タイムカプセルにのってきた！
　といった広告の謳い文句，そして，怪しくも超インパクトのあるパッケージイラストで販売されていた，「シーモンキー」という商品名でうられていたものでした！
　このシーモンキーとは，ブラインシュリンプ（アルテミア）という小エビを品種改良したもの。
　今も，シーモンキーとして子ども向け飼育キットとして売っているし，熱帯魚の餌としては，ブラインシュリンプとして売っています。
　とんでもなく摩訶不思議な生物で，卵は乾燥したまま何年も耐えられるようになっていて，海水に入れると，なんと！一日ほどで孵化するのです！
　４８年前の飼育していた当時の感動と興奮は，今もリアルに覚えています！

　５年生では，このブラインシュリンプをメダカの稚魚の餌として孵化させているのです！メダカの稚魚が，ブラインシュリンプが卵から孵化して，体にぶら下げている栄養がたくさん詰まっているオレンジ色のヨーサックという袋を食べることによって，驚異的な速度で成長していくのです！
　メダカの稚魚もはじめは，ヨーサックをお腹に持っています。ヨーサックとは，孵化した直後の生物がもっている栄養満点袋のことです。しばらくはこのヨーサックの栄養で生存できます。
