A high school student, Michinari Mizuta may be this year’s “luckiest man”.Mizuta,16,beat out about 6000 other male runners in the event at Nishionomiyajinja shrine on Junuary 10th. As the shrine gates opened at 6 a.m, runners raced along a 230 meter route to the main hall. Every year the top finisher is awarded the title of Ichiban-Fuku, or the luckiest man.
