Easter Party @ HELLO Village

　4月20日（木）の放課後、HELLO Village においてイースターイベントが行われました。このイベントではまず、イースターの歴史や世界各国において現在も行われている伝統的なイースターのアクティビティについて、ALTのハロルドとアナスタシーアが説明してくれました。生徒たちは二人のプレゼンを楽しみつつ、イースターについて理解を深めました。
　その後は、まず一つ目のアクティビティとして、イースターエッグデコレーションを行いました。生徒たちは紙の卵に色を塗って自分だけのオリジナルのイースターエッグを作りました。次に生徒たちはチームごとに分かれて、エッグハントを行いました。このエッグハントでは、校内に隠されたプラスチック製の卵を探し出し、ミッションをこなして、獲得した点数を競いました。生徒たちはチームで相談しながら校内を右往左往して卵を探し回り、文字通り身をもってイースターを体験しました。
　英語村ではこの後も5月9日（火）にクイズ形式のイベントであるPUB QUIZを開催予定です。今年度も引き続き、海外の文化に触れあう機会を提供していきたいと思います。

　On Apr. 20th, afterschool, Easter Event was held at HELLO Village. In this event, at first, our ALTs, Harold and Anastasiia explained the history of Easter and what traditional activities people do in Easter. Students enjoyed listening to their interesting talks and deepened their understanding about Easter.
　As the first activity, students made original paper Easter eggs. Then, as the second activity, they joined Egg Hunt which is a traditional activity in Easter. In this activity, they worked together with team members and looked for plastic eggs inside and outside HELLO Village. They walked around the school and literally experienced Easter through their bodies.
　In May, we are going to have another event, Pub Quiz, which will be another chance for students to enjoy English.

LHR Pub Quiz Challenge @ HELLO Village

　4月19日（水）、6時間目のロングホームルーム（LHR）の時間にHELLO Villageにおいて1年5組の生徒向けにPub Quizが行われました。1年5組の生徒たちは９チームに分かれて、クリス村長から出題されるクイズに挑戦しました。
　今回出題された問題は、碁盤の目のように並んだ文字から意味のある言葉（動物）を探し出す「Word Search」、他のチームの解答を予測して同じ解答を導き出す「Common Answer」、洋楽のPVを見てその曲に関する問題に答える「Music Video」でした。生徒たちは、正解するたびに手を挙げてチームメイトと喜び合い、大いに盛り上がっていました。
　明日4月20日（木）には4月のメインイベントであるEaster Partyが開催されます。英語村ではこれからも、英語や海外の文化に触れあう機会をできるかぎり提供していきたいと思っております。

　On Apr. 19th, there was a LHR event, ‘Pub Quiz Challenge’ at HELLO Village for students in 1-5. The students (9 groups) worked together with other team-members for solving the following quizzes from Kris: ‘Word Search’ (finding meaningful words (animals) from letters arranged in a grid-like way), ‘Common Answers’ (guessing the same answer shared by the other teams), and ‘Music Video’ (Watching a music video and answering the questions about it). Students raised their arms in triumph and shared the joy with other team-members when they got a right answer.
　We are planning to have Easter Party tomorrow after school. We are going to offer various opportunities for students to enjoy English and foreign cultures.

Welcome to HELLO Village!

　新入生向けのHELLO Villageオリエンテーションが4月11日（火）と12日（水）の2日に分けて行われました。このオリエンテーションでは、まず初めに、HELLO Villageのメンバーや施設、季節ごとに行われる様々なイベントの紹介がありました。
　その後は、百聞は一見に如かずということで、さっそくHELLO Villageを体験してもらうため、村長クリスによるミニパブクイズが行われました。すべてが英語で行われ、新一年生たちは少し緊張した様子でしたが、すぐにクイズを楽しみ始め、正解が発表されるたび歓声を上げていました。
　今月は4月20日（木）に今年最初のイベントであるEaster Partyが開催されます。HELLO Villageではこれからも英語や海外の文化に触れあう機会をできるかぎり提供していきます。

　On Apr. 11th and 12th, we had HELLO Village Orientation for the first graders. In this event, we introduced HELLO village members, facilities, and seasonal events such as Halloween Party where students can directly have cultural experiences in English.
　After the introduction, as the proverb ‘seeing is better than hearing’ says, the first-graders experienced HELLO Village through Kris’s Pub Quiz in which they faced the quiz challenges from Kris (Mayor of HELLO Village). Although the students were a little bit nervous at first, they enjoyed Pub Quiz and gave a shout of joy when they got right answers.
　We are planning to have Easter Party on Apr. 20th that will be the first cultural event this year. We are going to offer various opportunities for students to enjoy English and foreign cultures.
