Summer Day Camp 2025

７月１2日（土）、本校２年生を対象とした２０２5年度サマーデイキャンプが行われました。集まった３０名ほどの生徒たちはクリス村長、日吉ケ丘のALT４人に他校のALT7人とともに様々なアクティビティに参加しました。
　　
まず、「Guess Who?」というゲームで緊張をほぐし、7つのチームに分かれ、それぞれのチームにはALTが１人ついてチームの旗とスローガン作りで団結力を高めました。その後の最初のチャレンジ「Paper Tower
Making」では与えられた素材だけで紙のタワーを作り高さを競い、２つ目のチャレンジの「Scavenger Hunt」では時間内にチームで力を合わせてできる限り多くのタスクをクリアしました。
　　
次は、待望のランチタイムビュッフェです。たくさんのピザやALTが腕を振るってBBQ方式でグリルしたソーセージのホットドッグ、チキン、サラダ、各種スナックととてもアメリカンでおいしいお昼をいただきながら生徒達とALTや留学生たちで楽しい会話が弾んでいました。
　　
午後は、皆が最高に頑張ったチャレンジ「Fashion Show」で始まりました。それぞれのチームで２人のモデルを選び、与えられた布、色画用紙、ひも、テープ、クリップなどを使って作ったドレスを着せます。とても個性的で創造的なドレスにはそれぞれストーリーやコンセプトがあり、ステージを飾りました。
　　
最後のチャレンジは、お馴染みの「Pub Quiz」で、得点を得るために各チーム、ラストスパートをかけました。最後、優秀賞を発表する前に村長からのサプライズのアイスクリームがふるまわれ、先生方やALT達からも喜びの声が上がりました。
得点が集計されて発表され、賞品を得たチームもそうでなかったチームも皆、大満足の英語漬けの一日が終わりました。

これで、２０２５年度１学期の英語村での大きなイベントは終了しましたが、英語村はこれからも２学期、３学期とますます、生徒たちが生の英語に触れ、様々な文化に触れ、楽しく学んでいく機会を提供し続けていきたいと思います。


On July 12th 2025, Summer Day Camp was held at HELLO Village
for the 2nd grade students of Hiyoshigaoka. There were about 30
students who participated in this event with Mayor Kris, 4 of the
Hiyoshi ALTs and 7 more from other schools, and together they
enjoyed the challenging activities.

They started with an icebreaking activity called “Guess Who?.”
Then they divided into 7 teams with a visiting ALT in each team.
Each team created a flag, a team-name, and a slogan in order to
strengthen the team’s unity. The first challenge was “Paper Tower Making.” In this activity, students got together as a team and made the tallest paper tower they could using limited materials.

The second challenge of the morning was the “Scavenger Hunt”. In this event, students used clues to complete as many tasks as
possible before the time limit.

Next, the highly anticipated Lunch Time Buffet! There were many
pizza pies, hot dogs made with sausages skillfully grilled by one of our ALTs, fried chicken, salad, and lots of snacks. They all enjoyed
the American camp style buffet and energetic conversations were
happening between everyone.

In the afternoon, the “Fashion Show” challenge was held. In this
challenge, each team chose two models and dressed them up with materials given such as fabric, colored paper, string, tape, and
paper clips. Each costume had its own design concept and brand
name and they were all very creative when they walked down the
runway, everyone clapped and cheered to the effort put into each
costume.

The last challenge was the familiar “Pub Quiz”. All the groups tried hard to win in their last chance to earn points. Before the winner
was announced, there was a surprise ice cream treat from Mayor
Kris. Everybody, including teachers and ALTs, expressed their
delight and excitement.

The points were added up and the winners were announced.
Afterwards, prizes were given out. However, even those who did
not win left fulfilled and content with this day of immersion in
English.

This was our last event for the first term of 2025. However, we will continue with our efforts for the rest of the year to create more
opportunities for the students to be exposed to authentic English.

日吉ケ丘に新たな留学生を迎えています！

ご紹介が遅れました。6月23日より日吉ケ丘高校は新たに留学生2名を迎えています！

二人とも日吉ケ丘高校の授業に参加して日本語を学んでいます。また、様々な英語村イベントに参加して日吉ケ丘の生徒達と楽しくコミュニケーションを取っています。

It is overdue but we would like to introduce our two exchange
students. They have been attending our schools since June 23rd.

They are often participating in HELLO Village events where they
have the chance to communicate and enjoy their time with the

国民スポーツ大会競技京都府予選会が開催されました！！

　6月29日（日）に国民スポーツ大会競技京都府予選会が開催されました。
　予選の結果、本校からは3年衣川ひかり、片岡百花、2年田村菜穂子が京都府代表に選出されました。
　選手らは、8月17日（日）に天理大学で行われる、国民スポーツ大会競技近畿ブロック大会に出場し、それを勝ち抜けば滋賀県で開催される国民スポーツ大会本大会への出場となります。
　本校生及び、京都府チームの応援をよろしくお願いいたします。

京都府警・東山警察署・大谷高校剣道部の皆さんと交通安全啓発活動及び合同練習を実施しました！

　6月14日（土）、本校は京都府警、東山警察署、大谷高校剣道部の皆さんとともに、交通安全啓発活動及び合同練習を行いました。
　当日はあいにくの雨模様となりましたが、啓発活動を通して、生徒たち自身が改めて地域の交通安全について考える貴重な機会となりました。
　また、合同練習では、京都府警本部の皆さまより直接ご指導をいただき、普段の学校での練習とは異なる緊張感の中で、集中して取り組むことができました。
　今回ご指導いただいた内容をしっかりと自分たちの糧とし、今後の活動に活かしていけるよう、引き続き日々の練習にも真摯に取り組んでまいります。（女子剣道部）

2年次生の研修旅行・コース別会議を行いました。

2年次生の研修旅行が近づいてきました。この日はLHRの時間を使って、各コースに分かれて会議を行いました。台湾コースでは目標の確認のあと、班分けや体験学習の希望調査について進めました。まだまだ先生主導で進める内容が多いですが、徐々に生徒たちで構成する研修旅行委員主導のもとで進行できるようにしていきたいとおもっています。

The last day of the Week, we had third group of CIEE students
from America. The last event was the most awaited activity : the “Pub Quiz”. Students including CIEE students divided into 6 groups and enjoyed the challenging quiz rounds one after another shot
from Mayor Kris and tried hard to get or guess the correct answer.

While many things have changed in10 years, HELLO Village has
continued to be an exciting place for Hiyoshigaoka High School’s
students to meet people, learn about different cultures, and have
new experiences while practicing their English.

HELLO Village I 最終日、私達はアメリカCIEEの3つ目のグループを迎えました。最後のイベントはもっとも皆が待ち望んでいるアクティビティ「Pub Quiz」でした。CIEE生と6つのグループに分かれた日吉ケ丘生は次々とクリス村長から出題される難問に一丸となって一生懸命、正解を探ったり時にはカンを働かせて正しい答えをあてていました。

この10年、多くのことが変わりましたがHELLO Villageは常に日吉ケ丘高校の生徒達のために英語を学びながら様々な人々と出会い、世界の文化について学び、新しい経験を積めるエキサイティングな空間を提供し続けてきました。そして、これからもそうあり続けたいと考えています。

HELLO Village Week I Day 3

The third day of the HELLO Village Week I, we held “10 Year
Event”. Students learned a little bit about past 10 years of HELLO
Village and everybody thought about how world has changed over the same period of time through ALT’s presentations. An activity
was held after each presentation where students can get many
Globy points. Hiyoshigaoa students were divided into groups with
CIEE American students and enjoyed the activities together.　

Students compete to collect as many Globy points as they can and there are many ways to win them during HELLO Village Week
activities by using 4 skills in English. The winner and the class with most Globy points in the grade will be awarded.

HELLO Village Week I 三日目は「10周年イベント」でした。クリス村長によるプレゼンテーションでこの英語村の10年の歩みについて学び、3人のALTによるプレゼンテーションが続き、この10年で世界がどう変化したのかについて思いをはせました。それぞれのプレゼンテーションの後にはたくさんのロービーポイントが獲得できるアクティビティが行われました。日吉ケ丘生はアメリカのCIEE留学生たちと一緒にグループに分かれて、和気あいあいとアクティビティに挑みました。

生徒達はできるだけ多くのグロービーポイントが得られるように競い合います。このHELLO Village Week I 中には、このグロービーポイントを獲得する仕掛けがたくさんあります。皆、配られているブックレットにこのグロービーポイントをためていくのですが、獲得するためには必ず英語の四技能を駆使しなければならないように作られています。各学年のトップ5人と各学年でトップのクラスは表彰されます。

The forth day, we held “Conversation Café”. There were 12 booths run by CIEE students from America. Hiyoshigaoka students earned Globy points by visiting these booths and speaking with CIEE
students. If a student could visit all the 10 booths, that would add up to 50 points! Our students enjoyed the talk regardless of the
Globy points and so did the CIEE students. Even after the event,
they got into groups and enjoyed further conversation, board
games, and volleyball! We had different lot of CIEE students every day, so it was just a couple of hours’ interaction but it seemed
really hard for them to say good bye in the end.

HELLO Village I　四日目には「Conversation Café 」が開催されました。これはCIEEの留学生グループが2人ずつ10グループに分かれてテーブルについているところへ日吉ケ丘生が順番に回り、それぞれのテーブルで様々なテーマについての会話が行われるというものです。日吉ケ丘生はすべてのテーブルを回ると50グロービーポイントも獲得できます！しかし、生徒達はポイントそっちのけでそれぞれのテーブルで制限時間いっぱい英会話を楽しんでいました。イベント終了後もCIEE留学生たちは日吉ケ丘の生徒達と一緒になって会話を深めたり、ボードゲームに興じたり、バレーボールを一緒に楽しんだりしていました。この、3日間毎日異なったグループのCIEE生たちが来校していたので、ほんの数時間の交流でしたが最後は本当に別れがつらいくらい仲良くなっていました。

【硬式野球部】第107回全国高校野球選手権京都大会 2回戦 結果報告

7月8日（火）わかさスタジアム京都にて行われた第107回全国高校野球選手権京都大会 2回戦において、本校硬式野球部は京都府立田辺高校と対戦し、13対3で勝利いたしました。

猛暑の中での試合となりましたが、部員一人ひとりが自らの役割を果たし、中盤に集中打で逆転に成功。チーム一丸となって勝利を掴むことができました。

HELLO Village Week I Day 2

On June 13th Friday lunch time, we had the “Talent Show”. This
event is very popular every year that the spacious Communication space was packed to overflowing onto the outside deck. First
performer was a singer singing humorous song to his own guitar
accompaniment. Everyone laughed and cheered. Next was our
Rubik’s cube wizard, Tsune. He performed many times in the past but had progressed every time. This time he solved ten Rubik’s
cube under 2 minutes and 26 seconds. Last but not least, Ritsu
charmed everybody with a beautiful singing to his friend’s guitar
accompaniment. The Space was filled with cheers and applause
carried away by great performances.

After school of the Day 2, Romania Presentation : “A Journey
through History and Culture” was held. The presentations by
George Cosbuc students were all made in details with beautiful
pictures and video clips and contained a lot of information that
were very interesting to us. Everyone in the room including
teachers were mesmerized. Then they performed their traditional
dance in beautiful traditional costumes along with Romanian music. They taught us how to dance and all the Hiyoshi students joined
them. They laughed and clapped in excitement.

Since it was their last day at Hiyoshigaoka, one of the Hiyosigaoka buddies made a video clip of their time in Japan to give Romanian students as a farewell present. They all hugged and cried unwilling to part.

6月13日（金）HELLO Village Week I　2日目、昼休みには「Talent
Show」が行われました。このイベントは毎年とても人気で、この広々とした英語村コミュニケーション・スペースがびっしり埋まり外のデッキまで人であふれていました。最初の出演者は自分のギターに合わせてとてもユーモラスな歌を歌いました。皆、笑い声援を送っていました。次はわれらのルービックキューブマジシャン、Tsuneでした。彼は過去何回もいろんな場面でこの技を披露していますが、毎回記録は更新されています。今回は2分26秒で10個のルービックキューブを完成させました。そして、栄えあるラストのRitsuは美しい歌声を友人のギターに合わせて披露し皆を魅了しました。コミュニケーション・スペースはこの昼休み素晴らしいパフォーマンスの数々に夢中になり声援と拍手にあふれていました。

2日目の放課後はルーマニアの生徒達によるプレゼンテーション
「A Journey through History and Culture」が行われました。ジョージ・コシュブックの生徒達のこのプレゼンテーションはすべて美しい写真、動画、音楽とともに丁寧に作成されており、私たちにとって非常に興味深い情報にあふれていました。その場にいた教職員も含めて全員が魅了されていました。その後彼らはルーマニアの美しい伝統衣装に身を包み、ルーマニアの音楽に合わせて代々伝わってきたダンスを披露して私達にも踊り方を教えてくれたので日吉ケ丘生も彼らに加わり踊り、会場は笑いと熱気にあふれていました。

この日はルーマニアの生徒達のステイ最終日であったので、日吉ケ丘のバディの代表が彼らの日本での滞在記録動画をまとめ彼らに餞別として贈りました。最後はハグと涙で中々会を終えることができませんでした。
