一般向けイベント「Ireland Day」＠ HELLO Village

　12月7日（土）、今年度４回目の一般向けイベント「Ireland Day」が英語村で開催されました。このイベントでは、本校ALTのダニエルさんに、母国であるアイルランドの歴史や文化について熱く語ってもらいました。
　前半は、アイルランドの歴史をクイズ形式で紹介。参加者のみなさんにいくつかのグループに分かれていただき、「What is Poulnabrone Dolmen for?」、「What happens at Newgrange in the winter solstice?」、「What did St.Patrick eradicate from Ireland?」といった質問に答えることで、アイルランドの歴史について理解を深めていただきました。
　後半は、アイルランドの文化を実践形式で体験。まずは、ケルト人独自のオガム文字を使って自分の名前を書いたり、オガム文字で書かれた他の参加者の名前を読むという課題。名前の中にはとても長く複雑なものもあって、「解読」に時間がかかることも。次に、聖ブリジットの十字架作成。本来、材料として葦を使うところをカラーモールで代用し、とってもカラフルで個性的な十字架が誕生しました。最後は、ダニエルのアイリッシュダンス講座。複雑なステップを短時間で見事に習得した方もいれば、悪戦苦闘の果てに自分独自のスタイルを創作した方をいらっしゃいました。
　さて、今年の一般向けイベントはこれが最後になりますが、来年の一月下旬に今年度５回目の一般市民向けイベントを予定しています。日程が近づきましたら、また日吉ケ丘高校HPからご案内をさせていただきます。ご参加されたみなさま、寒い中をお越しいただきありがとうございました。

The forth public event ‘Ireland Day’ was held at HELLO Village on Dec. 7th. In this event, our ALT Daniel enthusiastically introduced his own country, Ireland.
　The first half was Quiz Time where participants answered questions about the history of Ireland, such as ‘What is Poulnabrone Dolmen for?’, ‘What happens at Newgrange in the winter solstice?’, and ‘What did St.Patrick eradicate from Ireland?’.
　The second half was Practical Training where participants directly experienced Irish cultures by using their bodies. The first task was to write and read names in Celtic Ogham. Some names are simple and short, but others are so long and complicated that deciphering was required! The second one was to make St.Brigid’s Cross. It is originally made of reeds, but ours were of pipe cleaners that made crosses more colorful and individual! The third one was Irish dance. Some participants are natural-born dancers and quickly learned difficult steps; others accidentally ‘created’ their own styles at the end of a desperate struggle!

第３回教職員保健人権教育研修会

◆令和元年度　第３回教職員保健人権教育研修会
　１２月５日（木）の放課後、教職員を対象とした「生命（いのち）のがん教育」の研修会を実施しました。
　京都府健康対策部健康対策課から２名の講師の方をお招きし、高校生向けの模擬授業とがんを経験された方に自身の貴重な体験を通して学ばれた教訓をお聞かせいただきました。また、働き盛り世代のがん予防や早期発見、早期治療についても話を広げていただき、がん教育の大切さについて、その意義の深さの理解につなげることができ、とても有意義なものとなりました。

入試相談会

　11月30日（土）、今年度最後のスクールガイダンスとなる、入試相談会を本校にて行いました。時間帯１,２,３合わせて８０組の方々にお越しいただきました。

・教員による入試相談ブース
・オーストラリア姉妹校留学経験をもつ本校2年次生と、ルーマニア姉妹校訪問経験をもつ3年次生が、質問にお答えする生徒相談ブース
・本校1年次が過去の入試体験や高校での生活について、質問にお答えする生徒相談ブース

を、設けました。今回の相談会が志望校の選択に役立つことを願っています。

　７月の第１回学校説明会から始まった今年度のスクールガイダンスは、今回の相談会で終了となりますが、本校についてご質問などございましたら遠慮なくご連絡ください。
