PUB QUIZ @ HELLO Village

　5月10日（火），毎学期恒例となっている「Pub Quiz」が英語村で開催されました。放課後，英語村に集まった生徒たちは７チームに分かれ、クリス村長から出題される様々なクイズにチームメイトと協力して挑みました。
　今回出題された問題は、碁盤の目のように並んだ文字から意味のある言葉（学校で見かけるもの）を探し出す「Word Search」、今年のGWで人気の観光地を順に並べる「Picture Round」，他のチームの解答を予測して同じ解答を導き出す「Common Answer」，他のチームとは異なる唯一の解答を導き出す「One of a Kind」，洋楽のPVを見てその曲に関する問題に答える「Music Video」でした。
　正解するたびに拍手が沸き起こり，生徒たちは大いに盛り上がっていました。今回も熾烈なトップ争いの結果、１位に輝いたのはチーム「Margherita」。２位は「Hog-Hog」，３位は「Thursday Child..」でした。
　この後は，6月15日から21日まで1週間続くイベント「HELLO Village Week」を開催予定です。英語村ではこれからも，しっかりと感染予防対策を行いながら，英語や海外の文化に触れあう機会をできるかぎり提供していきたいと思っております。

　On May. 10th, there was an after-school event ‘Pub Quiz’ at HELLO Village. More than 30 students (7 teams) joined this event and enjoyed the quiz challenge from the Mayor Kris!
　The students worked together with other team-members for solving the following quizzes: ‘Word Search’ (finding meaningful words (items in school) from letters arranged in a grid-like way), ‘Picture Round’ (putting 10 most popular sight-seeing places in a right order), ‘Common Answers’ (guessing the same answer shared by other teams), ‘One of a Kind’ (guessing the unique answer not shared by other teams) and ‘Music Video’ (Watching a music video and answering the questions about it).
　Every time the answer was announced, HELLO village was full of cheers and applause! This time, the winner was the Team ‘Margherita’, followed by the second-place ‘Hog-Hog’, and the third-place ‘Thursday Child..’.
　We are planning to have the third cultural event, HELLO Village Week, next month from 15th to 21st. We are going to offer various opportunities for students to enjoy English and foreign cultures, taking appropriate preventive measures for protecting students from infection.

Easter Event @ HELLO Village

　4月19日の放課後，英語村においてイースターイベントが行われました。このイベントではまず，イースターの歴史や世界各国において現在も行われている伝統的なイースターのアクティビティについて，ALTのダニエルさんが説明してくれました。生徒たちは，ダニエルさんのプレゼンを楽しみつつ，イースターについて知識を深めました。
　その後は，まず一つ目のアクティビティとして，イースターエッグデコレーションを行いました。生徒たちは紙の卵に色を塗って自分だけのオリジナルのイースターエッグを作りました。次に，生徒たちはチームごとに分かれて，エッグハントを行いました。このエッグハントでは，校内に隠されたプラスチック製の卵を探し出し，ミッションをこなして，獲得した点数を競いました。生徒たちはチームで相談しながら校内を右往左往して卵を探し回り，文字通り身をもってイースターを体験しました。
　英語村ではこの後も5月10日にクイズ形式のイベントであるPUB QUIZを開催予定です。次回もしっかりと感染予防対策を行いながら，海外の文化に触れあう機会を提供していきたいと思います。

　On Apr. 19th, afterschool, Easter Event was held at HELLO Village. In this event, at first, our ALT, Daniel explained the history of Easter and what traditional activities people do in Easter. Students enjoyed listening to his interesting talk and deepened their knowledge on Easter.
　As the first activity, students made original paper Easter eggs. Then, as the second activity, they joined Egg Hunt which is a traditional activity in Easter. In this activity, they worked together with team members and looked for plastic eggs inside and outside HELLO Village. They walked around the school and literally experienced Easter through their bodies.
　In May, we will have the second event this year, Pub Quiz, which will be another chance for students to enjoy English. We will take appropriate measures for protecting students from infection.
