小学生イベント「HELLO 英語であそぼう」

On July 25th, 60 3rd grade elementary school students from Kyoto City came to HELLO Village to take part in an event called HELLO English. After a speech from the Kris, the village mayor, and self-introductions by the ALTs, the students watched a short movie produced by the Hiyoshigaoka ALTs and played a short janken game. After the opening ceremonies, the students were divided into 6 groups and went to an event booth. Each of the event booths was run by ALTs from Kyoto City, and introduced a different country (France, Greece, Egypt, Spain, China and Australia) through various games and activities such as puppet shows and quiz questions. The children all seemed to really enjoy the different activities as well as communicating with the ALTs in English. The children received a stamp on their HELLO Village passport after each booth, and also received original HELLO Village pens and stickers for their participation in the event. The Superintendent of Education in Kyoto City, Mr. Arita, also attended the event and seemed pleased to see how engaged all of the children were. 7月25日（火）、京都市内に住む、京都市立小学校3年生60人が英語村にやってきました。初めにオープニングセレモニーがありました。クリス村長の挨拶、ALTの自己紹介の後、日吉ケ丘高校ALTが作成した楽しいムービーを見た後、みんなでジャンケンゲームをしました。その後のイングリッシュ・タイムでは、10人で1つのグループを作り、６つのグループに分かれました。ALT達が、フランス・ギリシャ・エジプト・スペイン・中国・オーストラリアの6つのブースに分かれて、それぞれの国に関わるゲームや人形劇、クイズなどの楽しいイベントを準備していました。どのブースでも子供たちの歓声が聞こえ、楽しみながら、英語に親しんでいました。すべてのブースを回った後、パスポートに6つのスタンプを押してもらい、参加者全員が賞品の特製ボールペンとステッカーをもらって喜んでいました。在田教育長も視察に来られ、夢中で取り組んでいる子供たちの姿をご覧になって満足そうにしておられました。この日のために準備をして下さったALTや関係者の皆さんに心より感謝申し上げます。また、来年同じような機会があれば是非参加してください。
