　今週のEnglish Showerの話題は、12月27日に戻り、安倍首相がハワイの真珠湾にあるUSS Arizona Memorial (アリゾナ記念館)を訪れ、日本の攻撃で亡くなった人々に追悼の意を示した、というものです。練習する単語は８つです。

　Prime Minister Shinzo Abe paid his respects to those killed in Japan’s attack on Pearl Harbor 75 years ago, saying the world should remember the site as a “symbol of reconciliation.” Abe visited the USS Arizona Memorial with U.S. President Barack Obama on December 27th. Abe, who became the first sitting prime minister to visit the memorial with a U.S. president, did not apologize for the attack, but expressed gratitude to the United States for helping Japan return to the international community.
