HELLO Village Week 1
On June 19th, HELLO Village Week 1 held the final event. It was called “Conversation Cafe”. There were 10 cafes (booths) set with different themes opened by a group of American students (another group different from the day before). Hiyoshigaoka students visited each cafe in groups and communicated with American students. These American students were attracted to Japanese language and culture and had a lot to ask Hiyoshigaoka students and so did our students to English and American culture. Since each group could spend a short amount of time in one cafe, all students were interacting enthusiastically. There was hearty laughter and clapping everywhere and the HELLO Village Communication space was filled with life and energy. Lastly, all the Hiyoshigaoka students were invited to a picnic party held on the weekend by American high school students and their chaperones. 5 days HELLO Village Week 1 has finally closed with a successful result. This event attracted many students, and they all realized the importance of communication in a language other than their native tongue. We will keep offering various new authentic experiences to students. |
